At Space City Toyota's Certified Collision Center, we handle everything from minor dents to major collision damage. Our state-of-the-art facility is designed with your convenience, time, and satisfaction in mind.

Our Certified Collision Center features cutting-edge technology and equipment, including frame machines, measuring systems, dimension charts, welding equipment, a PPG refinishing system, and climate-controlled downdraft paint booths. We use networked and wireless computerized estimating with digital imaging. We've invested significantly in our facility and specialized equipment to provide you with the latest repair techniques and procedures. Our mission is to get you and your family back on the road safely and quickly.

Repair Process

We understand that car accidents can be stressful. That's why we've streamlined our repair process.

1. Vehicle Reception

• The following information will be required upon receiving your vehicle:
• • Vehicle insurance
  • Description of related and non-related damage(s) to the vehicle
  • Photographs of the interior and exterior of vehicle, damages, and contents
  • Contact information
• Next, you will be assigned a Space City Toyota Certified Collision estimator, who will walk you through the repair process, answering any questions you may have along the way.
• For your convenience, we also provide a courtesy shuttle to help you get where you need to be while your vehicle is being repaired.

2. Vehicle Damage Analysis

• Our collision experts will disassemble your vehicle to further assess the damages and check the following:
• • Damaged Parts
  • Mechanical Damage
  • Secondary Damages
  • Unrelated Damages
  • Structural Dimension (if applicable)
• Upon completion of the inspection, we’ll provide you with a detailed estimate, including an itemized list with the following:
• • Body Labor Operations
  • Paint Labor Operations
  • Parts Pricing
  • Taxes
  • Total Labor and Parts Amounts
  • Total Repair Cost
• Before we proceed with any repair services, your estimator will review your quote and obtain your authorization to proceed with restoring your vehicle back to pre-accident condition.

3. Insurance Company Supplement for Repairs

If your insurance company isn’t a part of a direct repair program with the Space City Toyota Certified Collision, a re-inspection will be required by your insurance company. Once the supplement estimate for repairs has been authorized, they will provide a revised estimate of repairs.

Our team will reach out to you, go over any supplemental revisions, and obtain an authorization for the supplemental repairs and amounts before proceeding with our services.

Regardless of whether your insurance company is paying for the repairs, we’ll need approval to continue with the supplemental repairs. You can authorize our services by phone, fax, or in person. Any additional parts needed for repair will be purchased at this time.

4. Body and Structural Repairs

Following manufacturer’s guidelines, your vehicle will have panels repaired as needed. Inner structural components will also be accessed at this stage. Bolted-on outer panels including bumpers, hood, fenders, doors, luggage lid and/or liftgate will be replaced and aligned if needed. Panel-to-panel gap openings will also be set before the vehicle is sent to be painted.

5. 3-Step Paint Process

Your vehicle is now ready for our painting process. With our 3-step process, our team is committed to ensuring your paint match is as accurate as possible.

• Prep- We prime and prepare the section that needs to be repainted. We then block sand the surface to guarantee the panels are aligned and straight.
• Paint –Any openings of the vehicle are masked off in preparation of paint. Your vehicle is painted and baked in a climate-controlled, state-of-the-art, 1 million BTU, direct-fired downdraft paint booth. The paint finish and clear coat is baked at approximately 145 degrees.
• Polish – We sand the refinished panels to ensure a consistent finish. Your vehicle is then returned to the collision repair technician for final assembly.

6. Mechanical Work, Final Cleanup, and Inspection

Mechanical work is performed throughout the repair processes as necessary. We then take your vehicle out on the road for further testing and sent to the Final Wash and Inspection, where we perform the following services:

• Wash exterior
• Clean windows
• Interior is vacuumed and wiped down
• Tire protectant is applied

Great news! Your vehicle is ready for inspection of complete estimate items.

7. Pickup and Delivery

Upon completion of inspection, we’ll contact you to pick up your vehicle. Your estimator will discuss the repairs made and the proper care to ensure the longevity of your vehicle. Throughout the process, our expert staff will keep you informed and guide you through each step. We'll provide detailed estimates, explain all repairs, and ensure you're completely satisfied with the work.

Our repairs are warrantied for as long as you own your vehicle, covering workmanship and refinish work. (Parts are covered under the manufacturer's warranty.)
